A Life Examined

 Expect the unexpected

Just as we were ready to leave for Key West early Tues. morning, my daughter called from camp because she was sick. She had a fever and was vomiting. So my husband wound up going to get her and we didn't get to go on our trip.
Oh well at least she is feeling better now.

 It happened again

My husband has been going out to the local bar twice a week to play poker. He is always asking me to stop in to watch him play. Since I don't drink anymore, I prefer to stay home and surf the web. Well last night I decided to surprise him so I went down to watch him play for awhile. The bar was warm and smoky so i didn't stay long, but he was happy to see me.

When he came home, he thanked me for coming to see him and he goes, "see it happened again", I asked him what he meant and he said, "you were the best looking woman in the bar again."

He is so sweet.

 Its a good day

I went to the doctor today for my monthly check-up. I have an irritation at the exit site (where the tube comes out of my belly) but everything else is fine. I got an okay to go swimming next week which is great because I am going down to Key West. I have never been there before so I am really excited.

My doctor is always happy to see me doing so well. I am one of his best success stories. When I first met him, I was in a wheelchair and very weak and he put me on hemo. After about 10 months he switched me to perioteneal dialysis and I started getting stronger and stronger as the months went by.

Now I can walk well enough to go shopping, although I do tire easily and have to rest with my feet up when I get home. But I can go to the beach and go swimming and life is good.
