 Impeachment

A28

Congressman Dennis Kucinich has now filed his three articles of impeachment against Dick Cheney, and the Ohio Democrat is clearly serious about the holding the vice president to account for:

manipulating intelligence to fabricate a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction
manipulating intelligence to fabricate a relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda,
and openly threatened aggression against Iran absent any real threat to the the United States.

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- The Vermont House will take up a resolution calling for President George W. Bush's and Vice President Dick Cheney's impeachment.

The Senate passed a resolution last week that said the administration's conduct in the Iraq war and domestic issues warranted a congressional investigation into impeachment.

 My Daughter Sage

A sage someone who has wisdom that comes with age and experience

My daughter’s nickname is Sage, she got it from the X Files character with perfect memory.

The name suits her because she is wise beyond her years mostly because of all she has been through in her short life.

She was with me through a messy divorce and various boyfriends until I finally settled down. For awhile we were so poor that we could only afford meat once a week and all our clothes came from the second hand store. There was that Christmas when we got a 12 inch tree from the dollar store.

Then I got sick and was in and out of the hospital, and she was sent to stay with various relatives.

Recently she is facing the realization that her father, whom she adored as a little girl, is not the man she thought he was. I have never bad mouthed him to her, but now that she is becoming a young woman she has found out on her own. Basically he is very selfish and inconsiderate. Its not that he doesn’t love her, he just always puts himself first and is not willing to make any sacrifices for her.

There comes a day when we grew up and realize that our parents are not perfect, they are just human. Its such a sad day.

I AM YOUR MOTHER

by Wazi Nagi, 'Pine Tree Soul'

I am your Mother, do you not hear my heart beat,
Can you not feel the love I send;
Was not the air you breathed, my scent so sweet,
Is my pain hard for you to comprehend.

Upon my body snow lays soft and white,
Beneath my skin the future sleeps;
My blood flows to nurture and delight,
Into the ground it deeply seeps.

Mountains tall, clouds wreath my crests,
Rolling hills once wooded thick;
Gentle prairies too were once lush with grass,
Where did my bounty go so quick.

Sandy beaches and rock girded shore,
Where ocean waters sweep and crash;
A land of beauty, once so pure,
Marred by man's actions heedless and rash.

All this beauty was yours to behold,
Your duty was to love, cherish and protect;
Feel my anguish, the pain in my soul,
All I asked was your respect.

I am your Mother.

Israel "Bruddah Iz" Kamakawiwoʻole (May 20, 1959 – June 26, 1997) was a musician who lived in Hawaiʻi until his death at the age of 38. He became famous outside Hawaiʻi when his album Facing Future was released in 1993 with his medley of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "What a Wonderful World", which was subsequently featured in several films, television programs, and commercials. Kamakawiwoʻole was nicknamed "The Gentle Giant" by his admirers. He was described as always cheerful and positive, and he was best known for his love of the land and of the people of Hawaiʻi. Through his consummate ukulele playing and incorporation of other idioms (such as jazz and reggae), Iz remains one of the major influences in Hawai'ian music over the last 15 years.
