Eyes of the World

Words by Robert Hunter; music by Jerry Garcia

Right outside this lazy summer home
you don't have time to call your soul a critic, no
Right outside the lazy gate of winter's summer home
wondering where the nut-thatch winters
Wings a mile long just carried the bird away
Wake up to find out
that you are the eyes of the world
but the heart has its beaches
its homeland and thoughts of its own
Wake now, discover that you
are the song that the morning brings
but the heart has its seasons
its evenings and songs of its own
There comes a redeemer
and he slowly too fades away
There follows a wagon behind him
that's loaded with clay
and the seeds that were silent
all burst into bloom and decay
The night comes so quiet
and it's close on the heels of the day
Wake up to find out
that you are the eyes of the world
but the heart has its beaches
its homeland and thoughts of its own
Wake now, discover that you
are the song that the morning brings
but the heart has its seasons
its evenings and songs of its own
Sometimes we live no
particular way but our own
Sometimes we visit your country
and live in your home
Sometimes we ride on your horses
Sometimes we walk alone
Sometimes the songs that we hear
are just songs of our own
Wake up to find out
that you are the eyes of the world
but the heart has its beaches
its homeland and thoughts of its own
Wake now, discover that you
are the song that the morning brings
but the heart has its seasons
its evenings and songs of its own

 My Awesome Son

Get ready, you are about to know the mother of a famous person. My son dropped out of college where he was majoring in computer science to become a starving artist. Well his career is beginning to take off. Last year he was a stage manager, actor, and associate producer in this small production.

This year he is the associate producer of a larger production:

He is the Director of the Brooklyn Repertory Shakespeare Company

Monday Night Shakespeare will be performed at the Brooklyn Lyceum (227 Fourth Ave. at President Street in Park Slope) on Mondays at 8 pm, March 12 - April 30. Tickets $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. For information call (866) 469-2687.

And a play that he has written is being produced:

THE TRAGEDY OF JOHN
Presented by Theatre of the Expendable

The Studio @ Theatre Row
410 West 42nd Street
(between 9th & 10th Avenues)
New York, NY  10036

I am so proud of him!!

Iraq: A country in ruins, a people in despair

"How many people have died is the subject of rancorous debate - but 150,000 is a low estimate in a range that some research has claimed could top 655,000. You see the bodies dumped on the streets, on rubbish dumps, in canals and in the sewers - sometimes beheaded, at other times bearing the marks of torture. "

Casualty count

Killed: 3,252
Wounded 24,476
Operation Enduring Freedom
Killed: 372
Wounded 1,148

The pictures shown are of some of the people who have died this year. Tell me, do you feel any safer now then you did last year before they died? Are you any more free now that they are dead? Can you tell me that their deaths were necessary?
